In Game 3 of the West Coast semifinals of the NBA playoffs, the Golden Nuggets defeated the Timberwolves 117-90 on the road, bringing the series score to 1-2.

After the game, Nuggets coach Mike Malone accepted an interview with reporters. He said: "I think our starting lineup set the tone for the game from the jump ball, and not only did we start well, but we kept it going. This is the game we want, and that's my number one It’s the first time in this series that we’ve seen them play like that for the entire four quarters.”

In this game, all five of the Nuggets' first picks scored in double figures, while the Timberwolves' offense was limited. The team only scored 90 points, including 10 of 33 three-pointers, with a shooting percentage of only 30.3%.
